Call for STSMs 2016 is now open!

As in previous editions, it will be offered between 8-10 grants preferably with a duration of 3 months. Please, note that in this ocassion all the STSM granted have to take place between the 1 February and the 30 April 2016. This makes necessary to speed up the process for the call and evaluation leading to the following deadlines:


- Submission of the application: 16th December 2015

- Evaluation: 15 January 2016 

- Communication to grantees: 20 January 2016

WG1 publishes its second Newsletter

The Working Group 1 "Energy Efficient Technologies", has published its second newsletter (the first one was publised in September 2015)

The WG1, headed by Gerasmimos Lyberatos (Chair), M.Concetta Tomei (Co-Chair) and Francesco Fatone (Secretary) has been always a highly active group.

Steering board Committee meets in Madrid

The Steering board Committee of Water_2020 is meeting on 29 April in Madrid. The aim of the meeting is to discuss about activities organized until now, the last collaborative scientific production, economic status and the work and budget plan for 2016.

The deadline to attend Water 2020 Training School ended with a great success of participation!

Great success of participation during the application process for Water_2020 Training School "MODELLING AND DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS FOR SUSTAINABLE WASTEWATER TREATMENT". More than 50 applications were received in a very short period!
Shortly, the notifications of acceptance/rejection will be sent. 

A total of 25 candidates (20 international + 5 national) will attend the training school in Girona (25 to 29 April 2016)


Deadline extended for Summer School on the management of micropollutants in the urban water cycle

The deadline to apply the summer school, has been extended until 1st of May 2016.


INRA and IRSTEA are organising an international summer school for next july (4th-8th) in Narbonne (France). This short, intensive and highly specialized course is focused on priority and emerging micropollutants in wastewater (including sludge) and wastes systems (including biowastes, green wastes, manures…). 


11 STSMs granted!

In this fourth grand period (year 2016) a total of 11 grants were granted for Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs). The candidates (mainly from Spain, Italy, Poland and Greece) will enjoy their STSMs in Italy, UK, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain between the 1st of February and the 30th of April 2016.

LabiCAB Group (UNIVR) receives the "Sette Green Awards" 2015

The LABICAB group (Laboratory of Chemical Engineering of the environment and bioprocess) of the University of Verona , has received the " SetteGreen Awards 2015" for its excellent research and sustainable innovations developed for the recovery of bio-plastics and fertilizers from sewage plants treating wastewater.
