There are different alternatives to participate in Water_2020
1. Become a Management Committee member
Each participating country can nominate up to two representatives to the Management Committee (MC), who supervises and coordinates Water_2020. For this purpose, the MC meets at least once per year. MC members do also participate in the scientific issues of Water_2020 by joining up to 2 WG.
Within a period of twelve months after the approval by the CSO (07/06/2012), the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is open for acceptance to any COST Member Country or Cooperating State without any conditions being imposed. After this period of twelve months, other COST Member Countries or Cooperating State may accept the MoU only after having received the agreement of the Management Committee.
The procedure consist of the following steps:
a) If your country has not yet accepted the Action's MoU
Contact your COST National Coordinator (CNC) who can launch your country's participation procedure in the relevant Action (only possible if national funding for the Actions’ activity is available). Once done, the CNC can officially nominate you as a representative of your country to the MC committee. It is also recommended that you inform the Chair of the Action of your interest.
b) If your country has already accepted the Action's MoU but has not yet nominated 2 representatives
Contact your CNC who can officially nominate you as a representative of your country to the MC. It is also recommended that you inform the Chair of the Action of your interest.
2. Become a Working Group member
Working Groups (WG) are classified according to different scientific targets. They will meet at least once per year on–site and once through virtual media to follow up the scientific tasks performed within Water_2020.
If your country has accepted the Action's MoU you can contact the Action Chair for possible nomination by the MC to a WG. The procedure is as follows: 1) Send a letter of interest + a CV to the Grant Holder Manager (email@example.com); 2) The GH Manager will forward it to the chair of the WGs in which the applicants is interested; 3) The chair, co-chair and secretary of the WGs will take the decision on the acceptance.
As member of a WG you can participate in all the networking activities, although due to the budgetary limitations, reimbursement is not guaranteed (availability will be notified for each event).
3. Participate in Workshops and Conferences
Conferences and workshops open to researchers not participating in Water_2020 are planned and will be announced on this website.
