3rd Training School: “Fate, Treatment, Environmental and Economic Impacts of Micropollutants and Emissions”

The third training school “Fate, Treatment, Environmental and Economic Impacts of Micropollutants and Emissions” was held in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) from 21st to 24th of September 2015. It was organized by the Group of Environmental Engineering and Bioprocesses (Biogroup) of the University of Santiago de Compostela in collaboration with RedNovedar and REGATA Network.


The course was attended by 20 PhD students from 12 countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Turkey and United Kingdom), and the specialized lectures were given by 15 senior researchers from 7 different Universities, on the following topics: Micropollutants, Emissions of GHGs and Odour and Life Cycle Assessment, risks and economic aspects.


Moreover, students had the opportunity to participate in a technical visit to the Sewage treatment plant of Guillarei (Pontevedra).


There was also a social program which included a guided tour through the historical part of the city of Santiago de Compostela and a farewell dinner.
